Imagine taking a refined, pour over coffee and splashing in a shot of espresso - or swapping out your 1970 Challenger’s HEMI engine with a 2017 SRT Hellcat HEMI (potentially sacrilege, but ultimately awesome!) - or suddenly injecting your daily laptop with 64 GBs of RAM (sorry for the techie comparison…).
This is the mindset behind Davidoff’s 702 Series. Simply take the world-famous “White Label” series of cigars and replace their delicate, Ecuadorian Connecticut wrappers with the wicked, amped-up, Cuban-seed, three-part hybrid, 702 Habano wrapper. Cue the mic drop!
Davidoff understands that their classic “White Label” series, while being among the world’s most sophisticated, tends to demand a smoker’s upmost attention to fully appreciate its subtle intricacies… The 702 Series, on the other hand, grabs your tongue and figuratively hammers the sophistication into it! See the difference?
This provides an interesting experiment for cigar enthusiasts, as Davidoff claims they’ve done nothing to the original cigar blends—only swapping their mild wrappers for the beefed up 702. Smoke them side by side and experience the shocking difference that the final, yet most important ingredient (wrapper leaf) can do to a cigar.
The proprietary 702 wrapper is Cuban seed, using three varietals to form a unique, hybrid, Habano leaf. It is then grown in Ecuador at the foothills of the Andes mountains. The final experience introduces a predictably fuller experience, complete with bright notes of fresh-ground coffee beans, toasted nuts, table cream, citrus, and nutmeg zestiness.
