Hooten Young Operation Gothic Serpent draws its name from the 1993 U.S. military operation in Mogadishu, Somalia, which culminated in the Battle of Mogadishu. The cigar was created as a tribute to the servicemen involved in the operation, including the 19 U.S. soldiers who were killed during the fighting.

Handmade in Nicaragua, Operation Gothic Serpent combines aged Nicaraguan tobaccos with an Ecuadorian Habano oscuro wrapper. The cigar is offered in toro and torpedo formats, with the darker wrapper adding richness to a blend that remains centered in the medium-bodied range.

The profile begins with cedar, oak, and subtle spice before gradually developing notes of leather, cream, nuts, cinnamon, and black pepper. As the cigar progresses, touches of bread, minerality, and fruit can emerge alongside a steady pepper component, giving the blend more depth toward the latter portions of the smoke. The result is a measured, slow-building cigar that favors balance over brute strength.
