1916 Tabacalera Eiroa marks a new project from Santi Eiroa, the fourth generation of the Eiroa family to work in tobacco. The name points back to 1916, when Generoso Eiroa began growing cigar tobacco, giving the cigar a connection to more than a century of family history.

The blend uses five-year-old Habano tobacco for both the wrapper and binder, with Corojo and Pinareño-seed tobaccos in the filler. Pinareño has a long history in Honduras, but it is also known for being more delicate and lower-yielding than Corojo, making its use a unique part of the cigar’s recipe. For Santi, the blend is meant to sit between the fuller profile preferred by his father, Christian Eiroa, and the milder style favored by his grandfather, Julio Eiroa.
