Weller by Cohiba 2023

Now in its third iteration, the colliding-of-worlds collaboration that is Weller by Cohiba just KEEPS. GETTING. BETTER! Yes, the "Weller" in the cigar's name refers to that Weller, i.e. one of the most sought-after and highly regarded wheated bourbons in existence: W.L. Weller.

Weller by Cohiba first debuted in 2021, then being made as a cigar that would pair well with Weller bourbon. This was improved upon with the 2022 release, as the cigars featured tobaccos aged in spent bourbon barrels (now we're talking!). This important aspect continues for 2023, though the rest of the tobacco recipe and packaging have been tweaked and/or upgraded.

The Weller by Cohiba (2023) cigar begins with a Nicaraguan wrapper from the country's Jalapa growing region. This naturally sweet leaf surrounds a Connecticut Broadleaf binder, which has been carefully aged in Weller bourbon barrels (which were transported from their Kentucky origins to the General Cigar Dominicana factory in the DR). Finally, the filler is built from Nicaraguan (Jalapa & Estelí) and Brazilian Mata Fina tobaccos. Limited for the 2023 season, Weller by Cohiba is packaged in an upgraded display that will please connoisseurs and collectors alike, including 10 toro cigars concealed in striking aluminum tubes. All told, the cigars are medium-plus to medium-full in body, bringing dense flavors with lingering hints of the legendary bourbon itself—it's a unique experience for bourbon and cigar fanatics alike.
