Stillwell Star by Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust Holiday Y2022

Those familiar with premium pipe tobaccos and pipe culture know that the end-of-year holiday season is a special time, with manufacturers and blenders bringing out holiday-inspired pipes and annual holiday blends. Now, with Steve Saka and his Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust bridging the gap between premium cigars and pipes (see: StillWell Star cigars), it's only fitting that the StillWell Star brand receive its first limited edition during the 2022 holidays.

Introducing the Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust StillWell Star Holiday Y2022 cigar, the fifth release under the pipe/cigar crossover StillWell Star line. As with former cigars in the series, the StillWell Star Holiday Y2022 was blended in partnership with Cornell & Diehl's head pipe tobacco blender, Jeremy Reeves, where premium Black Cavendish burley and Virginia pipe tobaccos were rolled within the cigar's filler recipe of all-Nicaraguan tobaccos. This unique core was bound in a Mexican San Andrés leaf and finalized with an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper. Similar to the StillWell Star Aromatic No. 1, the Holiday Y2022 cigar is an aromatic blend; however, the Holiday Y2022 does not utilize a sweetened cap. Rolled in a singular 6" x 52 toro size, the DTT StillWell Star Holiday Y2022 is a limited offering for the '22 season, offering a mild to medium body and aromatic complexities of earth, vanilla, fresh pine, and fig pudding.

  • Mateo Rodriguez - Stillwell Star by Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust Holiday Y2022 Toro (Verified buyer)
Fantastic cigar. I think that the original blend of the Aromatic No. 1 is more flavorful but this blend is a great iteration of it. It went well with a chai tea and it was a very pleasant Smoke.
  • Christopher Barnett - Stillwell Star by Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust Holiday Y2022 Toro (Verified buyer)
Saved this cigar to smoke with my son, fellow Socialite, Dom Barnett. Really good cigar, I didn’t get all the cookie notes Steve was talking about but it was my third cigar of the day. I’ll try another one soon to see if I pick up those notes.
  • Chad Moorman - Stillwell Star by Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust Holiday Y2022 Toro (Verified buyer)
This is a great smoke. I saw the best out of the stillwell line. A ton of really good flavor vanilla and raisins flavor notes. Get a box if you can.
  • Ronald Coleman - Stillwell Star by Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust Holiday Y2022 Toro (Verified buyer)
If I could, I’d give a box of this blend 13 stars! Saka has perfected his craft! This had wonderful construction, a phenomenal burn rate, a full body, and some of the best flavor I’ve ever tasted. It’s not overpowering, but I feel like it’s pure hot coco—you get hints of cream, vanilla, and even some spice, all with a background flavor of chocolate.
  • Martin Kollman - Stillwell Star by Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust Holiday Y2022 Toro - 5 Pack (Verified buyer)
I have really enjoyed the full line of the Stillwell cigars, so couldn't wait to get my hands on the new Star. The cigars are definitely a Saka build with a consistent role, quality of leaf, and equal fill from one end to the other. With the pipe tobacco addition they have a little more aroma than similar sticks from DTT that I have but nothing over powering and leaning one way or the other. The cigar lights evenly and has a good dense foot that glows like a stop light and the smoke rises very nicely and consistently. First flavors and predominant through the cigar were cocoa or chocolate with a bit of rich fruit and something that I couldn't quite identify. It didn't taste of pine, maybe a bit of the wood, but not the Christmas tree or needle type. It was more of a light peppermint or something with a bite that helped to balance and brighten up the heavier notes of this cigar. Whatever it is, the blend continued to be well balanced, lots of great smoke, and flavor, all the while smoking slow and smooth. Yah, I took it clear to the nub and wanted more. I am now debating whether I need a 5er or go for the full 13........ Either way, plan on taking your time and maybe pair a good dark rum, cognac, or brandy with this and your favorite blues record.
  • Michael Cruz - Stillwell Star by Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust Holiday Y2022 Toro - 5 Pack (Verified buyer)
My new favorite of the stillwell line, well balanced medium flavored cigar that has unique pipe tobacco that adds a different flavor unique notes only found in tobacco
  • Cameron Chien - Stillwell Star by Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust Holiday Y2022 Toro - 5 Pack (Verified buyer)
Delicious cigar, although I had hoped it had a sweet tip like the Aromatic No. 1 has.

Notes of cocoa with the dry draw, and a delicious hint of pipe tobacco. The only issue was the cigar swelled and the wrapper split like the cigar was too moist, but it's been sitting in a Tupperdor with 65% Bovedas for almost a month.

I know these are sold out but if you can try one, do it!
