El Mago James Avenue Maduro

El Mago's James Avenue Maduro digs deeper into the family story that has defined the brand from the beginning. Founder Nick Fusco created El Mago in honor of his grandparents, Gonzalo and Maria Torre, while the James Hotel, purchased by Gonzalo on Miami Beach’s James Avenue in 1989, has remained a recurring part of the brand’s identity.

The Maduro is rolled at the MGE Cigars Factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, using a Mexican San Andrés maduro wrapper over an Ecuadorian Sumatra binder and Nicaraguan fillers. Unlike a simple wrapper variation, the internal blend was developed specifically for this cigar, giving it a darker and richer personality than the other James Avenue offerings.

Medium to full in body, the profile hits on dark cocoa, espresso, and leather, with the San Andrés wrapper adding a natural sweetness throughout. Pepper builds as the cigar progresses, carrying into the finish and giving the Maduro a fuller, more robust character while still feeling right home within the overall lineup.
