Byron 1850

Celebrating 175 years since the Byron cigar brand first debuted, parent company, Selected Tobacco, introduced the super-premium Byron 1850 cigar. Byron was named for renowned English poet George Gordon Byron, also known as Lord Byron. The cigars were produced by the Alfonso family in the mid-1800s, and while the brand later changed hands over the years, it was reclaimed by Nelson Alfonso to be returned to its former glory, honoring his family's legacy.

Setting out to deliver an experience worthy of the milestone, Nelson Alfonso pulled out all the stops on the Byron 1850 cigar. This includes a diverse tobacco recipe, featuring an Ecuadorian wrapper, Peruvian binder, and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. As with all Selected Tobacco cigars, Byron 1850 is well-aged before arriving in humidors throughout the world. But the Byron 1850 sets itself apart in this regard, featuring an impressive five years' aging on both cedar and French oak. This unique process was the result of Nelson Alfonso drawing inspiration from the wine industry. Beginning as an experiment, the wood-aging process became an obsession for Alfonso, and has now led to one of his most impressive smoking experiences to date!

Medium in body, the Byron 1850 cigar boasts classic complexities for the seasoned cigar enthusiast. Expect notes of leather, nutmeg, toasted oak, honey wheat bread, and cream through the finish.
