Sancho Panza Original

In a surprising (yet welcomed) mashup between the old and new worlds of premium cigars, Matt Booth of Room101 Cigars has provided his unique spin on the classic Sancho Panza brand. Dating back to 1848, Sancho Panza is one of the world's oldest continuously produced cigar brands, being named for the witty squire of Don Quixote in the epic novel of the same name.

Like nearly all iconic Cuban brands, Sancho Panza was smuggled out of Cuba after the communist government takeover of private industry in 1960, and has since become known for its Honduran craftsmanship. With the Matt Booth takeover, the cigar's Honduran build is about the only facet (besides the name) that remains, most notably showcasing an LA-inspired look from the region's cholo subculture.

One of three refreshed Sancho Panza cigars is the Sancho Panza Original, now boasting a Honduran-grown Connecticut wrapper (a somewhat unique ingredient), a San Andrés binder, and diverse fillers of Nicaragua, the DR, and Brazilian Mata Fina. The Sancho Panza Original cigar is medium bodied and easily approachable for a wide range of palates, offering slightly zesty characteristics of white pepper, toasted bread, nutmeg, and a lingering peanut brittle sweetness.
