On the boutique side of the premium cigar scene, Howard G Cigars has seen a continued rise in interest since debuting in 2020. The company was founded by Howard Gumbs Jr., being inspired by the camaraderie and artisanship unique to the world of craft cigars.
Among the first lines to really gain traction is the Howard G Black Moses, a four-part collection known for being rolled in shapely perfecto formats and offering the line's signature "ash for days."
Howard G Black Moses Maduro
The Howard G Black Moses Maduro cigar is rolled in a box-pressed 6⅛" x 58 perfecto size, using a Habano maduro wrapper, a Habano binder, and all-Nicaraguan fillers from the Estelí and Jalapa regions. While similar to its Natural sibling, the Maduro is darker in profile, hitting notes of earth, french-pressed coffee, and mocha.
Howard G Black Moses Blanco
The lightest blend in the Black Moses line, the Black Moses Blanco features a Connecticut Shade wrapper over an all-Nicaraguan interior blend. Rolled in a round 6" x 58 perfecto size, the Blanco is light yet concentrated in profile. The cigar is mild to medium in body, having core flavors of cedar, sage, citrus rind, and touches of white pepper.
