In early 2018, during a KMA Talk Radio broadcast with Steve Saka of Dunbarton Tobacco and Trust and Evan Darnell, famed leader of The Red Meat Lover's Club (the country's most carnivorous fraternity of meat eaters), Honest Abe Dababneh conceived the idea of blending a cigar specifically to pair well with copious amounts of red meat. Saka seemed the perfect choice for such a task and who better than someone who calls himself "The Secretary of Steak" to represent. Thus the 12th installment of Smoke Inn's famed Microblend Series was born.

When Smoke Inn first introduced the Microblend Series in 2010, we were a pioneer in the now-ubiquitous realm of craft cigar collaborations. The concept was born out of our love of craft beer, where craft breweries often produce one-off batches of their most exclusive and exotic recipes. Because of their strict attention to detail and care for the craft, these microbreweries are able to focus on pure quality-over-quantity, often collaborating with other microbreweries across the country to unleash rare and supremely flavorful experiences for the die-hard enthusiast. This is the model for which our Microblend Series was born—partnering with the cigar industry's most creative minds to unleash new and unique smoking experiences that cannot be found anywhere else!

Master Blender Steve Saka, diligently and carnivorously, worked on a blend that would be unleashed by the palate pairing of juicy red meat. For this savory blend, Steve traveled to Nicaragua, meticulously assembling this cigar while "under the influence" of the country's top-grade porterhouse steaks (aka "chuleta de dos lomos"). This lead to the selection of a Connecticut Broadleaf No. 1 Dark (maduro) wrapper, which was secured over a Mexican San Andrés binder and fillers of Nicaragua and the U.S. The end result is a powerhouse smoking experience with FULL strength and loads of oily goodness! The cigars were crafted in a singular Toro Gordo size (6" x 52) in 2018 ans 2019, which has been carefully adorned with a Rosette Pigtail cap (hey, sometimes you need a little pork with your beef). The Red Meat Lover's Cigar became so widely popular, that it was the first Microblend Series to become an annual release for Smoke Inn. In 2020, The Meat Box Pressed (MBP) vitola was released in a meaty 6x52 box pressed version of the blend. According to Saka, the vitola change added a dynamic that enhanced the blend and it's pairing with red meat. Well he was spot on and the MBP size was reprised for the 2021 version. The Red Meat Lover's Cigar has quickly become the most sought after single store exclusive releases in the world. Flavors range from charred meat, to earth, dark chocolate, fat, and the elusive umami. Just don't say we didn't warn you not to smoke this puppy on an empty stomach...
