H. Upmann Yarguera

Altadis U.S.A., among the largest producers of premium cigars in the world, has been teasing the cigar world with a special new trick they’ve been hiding up their sleeve for some time now...

The name is Yargüera, a term that describes not only a special growing region in Honduras, not only a new cigar, but a new, hybrid tobacco variety as well! The story goes, the Arias family brought an especially sweet and tasty tobacco variety back to Honduras from the land of Cuba, during the ‘60s. They cultivated this special tobacco at their Yargüera farm for decades, though the seeds were fragile and quite the challenge to produce.

Over the past few years, Altadis’ skilled torcedores (known as the Grupo de Maestros) meticulously combined this special seed variety with the more robust tendencies of the Criollo ’98 (a hybrid variety in itself). In 2013 the hybridization process was complete, and the first Yargüera tobacco was planted in the proven Yargüera farmlands.

Featuring a special blend of both sun-grown and shade-grown Yargüera tobaccos, in conjunction with Criollo ’98 leaves, this proprietary, Honduran puro is now set to showcase something new, and undoubtedly special for cigar fans. Don’t miss your chance to experience the exciting, new features of Yargüera H. Upmann!
