Zino Platinum Z-Crown Series

Zino Platinum Z-Crown Series

Among the most opulent brands coming out of the venerable Kelner-Davidoff facilities in the Dominican Republic is Zino Platinum. This should come as little surprise, as the cigars are named for the late Davidoff founder, Zino Davidoff.

While it is true that many of Zino Platinum's offerings register in the ultra-premium range of the cigar market, there are few that rival the company's Zino Platinum Z-Crown Series in sheer luxury. Of course, it is true that a portion of the cigar's hefty price point can be traced to the cigar's extravagant presentation; but, as with all of life's most prized indulgences, it is the ingredients themselves that give the Z-Crown Series its prestige.

Zino Platinum Z-Crown Series arrives in two formats, each showcasing a unique size and overall blend makeup.

Zino Platinum Z-Crown Chubby

Zino Platinum Z-Crown Chubby is rolled in an attractive double perfecto format, sized at 4" 15/16 x 54. The cigar boasts a hybrid Semilla 253 Yamasa (Dominican) wrapper, joined by an Ecuadorian Connecticut Dark binder and a host of Dominican-grown fillers from multiple regions of the country. In addition to the skillfully rolled shape—which lends to a pleasing progression of flavor from start to finish—the cigar benefits primarily from extensive aging. All tobaccos included have been aged eight years prior to rolling; additionally, the finished cigars are then further rested for four years at Davidoff's facilities in the DR. All told, smokers will be treated to 12 years of tobacco-aging perfection.

Zino Platinum Z-Crown Stout

The Zino Platinum Z-Crown Stout is the larger of the two cigars. In this format, the cigar gradually tapers to form a brilliant torpedo cap (clocking in at 7" x 52/38). For the Z-Crown Stout, the cigar begins with a hybrid Semilla 702 (Dominican) wrapper. An Ecuadorian Sumatra leaf is then used to secure a quartet of Dominican-grown fillers, as well as an additional leaf from Nicaragua. Like the Stout's sibling cigar, all tobaccos are aged eight years prior to rolling, with an additional four years following. This is a long and thoroughly enjoyable experience for life's highest honors and celebrations—a treat for the true connoisseur.
