First there was the Tatuaje Mexican Experiment—an extremely limited offering (released in 2012) that aimed to showcase what could be done when Tatuaje Cigars turned its focus towards the growing popularity of Mexican-grown wrappers. Mexican Experiment (or ME, if you will) quickly gained a cult-like status among enthusiasts, often regarded as an all-time favorite offering from Pete Johnson (owner of Tatuaje Cigars).
Perhaps taking advantage of the woke culture of modern America, Tatuaje took the theme and ran with it, showcasing a slightly tweaked followup known as ME II. Mexican Experiment II showcases the same overall binder/filler recipe as the original cigar, only the proportions have been tweaked (and the ligero has most notably been increased) to offer a spicier, more punchy smoking experience. These all-Nicaraguan tobaccos are wrapped in the cigar's signature Mexican San Andrés leaf, allowing for a near-identical profile to the original ME cigar. The resulting ME II showcases a medium/full body, boasting rich flavors of cabinet spices, earth, toasted hardwoods, baker's cocoa, espresso, brown sugar, and touches of black licorice.
While the Mexican Experiment only comes once in a blue moon, the ME II is here to stay! (Remember folks, it's ME II, not #MeToo — a very important distinction...)
