Few cigars in the modern era have made an entrance quite like Flor de las Antillas. When the original blend debuted in 2012, it rocketed to prominence as Cigar Aficionado’s No. 1 Cigar of the Year—a 96-point standout that put the García family’s name on the map for a new generation of cigar hobbyists. Rooted in Cuba’s poetic nickname as the Flower of the Antilles, the line has always served as a personal homage to the island and its influence on the Garcias’ journey.
Now, Flor de las Antillas enters its next chapter with a bold new wrapper: Mexican San Andrés. Retaining the Honduras binder and filler tobaccos grown on the Garcias’ own farms, the new Flor de las Antillas San Andres cigar swaps the sun-grown wrapper of earlier iterations for something darker, denser, and earthier. The San Andrés leaf brings a more brooding tone to the profile, adding espresso, earth, and savory spice to the line’s signature creaminess and floral sweetness.
Rolled at the My Father Cigars factory in Estelí and box-pressed in classic Flor de las Antillas fashion, the San Andrés variant deepens the brand’s legacy while staying true to its Cuban roots. If the original was a love letter to the island, this version feels like a new verse... richer, punchier, and written in ALL CAPS.
