La Palina Goldie Laguito No.2 2022

The legendary cigar that catapulted La Palina into the spotlight (for the modern era) has made its anticipated return, as the company has crafted the La Palina Goldie Laguito No. 2 cigar for only the second time. The original Goldie Laguito No. 2 cigar debuted in 2012, making the 2022 edition a fitting tribute for the blend's 10th anniversary.

Like many of La Palina's most acclaimed cigars, the Goldie draws from La Palina's 19th century origins, being named after Goldie Drell Paley, the wife of La Palina's original founder, Sam Paley. Paying tribute to such an elegant figure, La Palina used every means at their disposal to craft an elevated experience worthy of its namesake. This included a brass-hued Ecuadorian wrapper and binder, being secured over Nicaraguan and Dominican fillers. The cigars also helped to popularize the usage of rare medio tiempo tobacco, with a portion of the high-priming leaf making its way into the filler recipe.

While the original release was rolled by a single torcedor—the late Maria Sierra—the La Palina Goldie Laguito No. 2 (2022) cigars were crafted by Sierra's successor, Lopez “Chino” Perez, at the famed El Titan de Bronze factory in Miami's Little Havana neighborhood. The Goldie Laguito No. 2 (2022) cigars boast the same 6" x 38 petite lancero format as the original release, including the cigar's signature fan tail cap. There's no denying this is an extremely special release, with only 1,000 boxes of 10 cigars in existence.
