Sobremesa Tapa Negra brings a contrasting-wrapper technique into Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust’s Sobremesa Brûlée line, pairing the cigar’s familiar creamy profile with a darker wrapper section at the head. This simple tweak changes how the hobbyist experiences the blend, keeping the dessert-like core intact while placing a spicier Nicaraguan sun-grown wrapper directly against the palate.

Made at the Joya de Nicaragua factory in Estelí, Sobremesa Tapa Negra uses the same core blend as Sobremesa Brûlée, including an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, a Mexican negro binder, and Nicaraguan fillers from Condega, Pueblo Nuevo, La Joya Estelí, and Estelí-grown hybrid ligero. The difference comes at the top third of the cigar, where a Nicaraguan sun-grown wrapper has been applied over the Connecticut leaf.

Sobremesa Tapa Negra delivers the smooth, creamy character of Brûlée with added pepper and spice from the darker wrapper at the head. It shows how subtle variations can bring out added complexity, especially as the cigar is smoked down to the nub.
