Since the company's founding in 1992, Perdomo has treated cigar enthusiasts to special anniversary smoking experiences every decade following. The latest such addition is the Perdomo 30th Anniversary cigar, showing off what the legendary Perdomo family can bring to the table after more than 30 years in business!
Famous for their meticulous attention to detail, their vertical integration, and their pioneering work with barrel fermentation, Perdomo highlights each of these attributes with the Perdomo 30th Anniversary line. For starters, the cigars feature 15-year-aged tobaccos throughout the wrapper, binder, and filler. Adding onto this impressive feat, the company allows these vintage leaves added aging, placing the tobaccos in spent bourbon barrels in order to bring out added depth and refinement. This applies to a suite of three blend varieties, including the Perdomo 30th Anniversary Sun Grown, Connecticut, and Maduro cigars.
With the Perdomo 30th Anniversary Sun Grown, the blend boasts hearty Nicaraguan tobaccos from Perdomo's own farms of the Estelí, Condega, and Jalapa growing regions. The initial batch features leaves from the 2008 crop, which were carefully aged and finished in spent bourbon barrels from the US. Finally, the cigars are topped with a Cuban-seed Nicaraguan sun-grown wrapper, making for a full-flavored, surprisingly smooth experience of red pepper, oaky vanilla, clean cedar, and toasted nutmeg. This is a true masterpiece worthy of such an impressive milestone.
