Now partnering with the upscale Casa de Montecristo brand of cigar lounges across the US, Oliva offers a new spin on the Melanio cigar, rolling the blend in a 5" x 54 double robusto format. While the Melanio is traditionally rolled in box-pressed shapes, the Oliva Serie V Melanio Casa de Montecristo Exclusive bucks this trend with a more traditional round (parejo) format.

The cigars make use of the original tobacco recipe, which combines a ruddy Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper over all-Nicaraguan binder and filler. When rolled in a round format, the Melanio has more room for filler tobaccos, making for a slower burn and more Nicaraguan influence, hitting flavor notes of toasted caramel, red pepper, honey wheat bread, and a savory umami component.
