The My Father Blue cigar signals a shift in direction for the legendary García family, not in name but in origin... Known for their deep ties to Nicaraguan tobacco and bold, pepper-driven blends, the Garcías take a new path here by embracing Honduras from the ground up. This is the first My Father line to be rolled in their new Honduran factory, using a core recipe grown entirely on their own farm, Finca La Opulencia.
The Honduran blend is finished in a Connecticut Broadleaf rosado wrapper, which is soft in texture and a few shades lighter than your standard Broadleaf maduro. Underneath is a Honduran binder with long-fillers of Corojo and Criollo, all grown on García-owned soil. The result is a medium-plus-bodied profile that trades raw strength for refinement, offering a smoother, more measured experience than fans of the brand might expect.
Flavors unfold gradually, with cedar, toasted bread, and honey up front, followed by notes of fig, earth, and a touch of floral sweetness. It’s an experience that's less of a firework (i.e. Nicaraguan volcano) and more of a campfire—steady, layered, and meant to be lingered with. My Father Blue may be a departure in geography, but it remains rooted in the same attention to detail that defines the brand.
