Crowned Heads has never been one to rush a good idea, and Mil Días is proof. Originally named for the thousand days it took to perfect the blend, the line now enters a new chapter with the Mil Días Maduro, a cigar not content to simply wear a darker coat, but fully rebuilt from the ground up! The result is a bolder interpretation that honors the line’s refined roots while charting new territory.
Produced at the TacaNicsa factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, Mil Días Maduro swaps the original’s Ecuadorian Habano wrapper for a dense, toothy Connecticut Broadleaf maduro. Underneath, an Ecuadorian Habano binder corrals Nicaraguan fillers from Condega, Jalapa, and Ometepe. The result is unmistakably Crowned Heads; balanced and elegant yet deeper and darker on the flavor scale.
On the palate, expect a rich, layered profile of dark chocolate, cedar, and pepper, with leather and sweet baking spice rounding things out. The retrohale is where it sharpens, delivering a flash of black pepper and structure that lingers. It’s medium-plus in body, lush without being overwhelming—a fitting sequel for the maduro maniac.
