Since debuting in 2018, the Cohiba Spectre series has served as General Cigar Co.’s pinnacle of rarity and presentation—an annual exercise in blending at the highest caliber. Each year’s edition is built from an entirely new selection of tobaccos, rolled in extremely limited quantities, and presented in packaging that rivals fine art. For 2025, the Spectre cigar returns with its most ambitious profile and design yet, pushing both craftsmanship and presentation to new extremes.
Rolled at General Cigar Dominicana by a single pair of artisans, the 2025 Cohiba Spectre is built around a rich Havana Connecticut wrapper grown in 2017 and aged for seven years. Beneath lies a Mexican San Andrés binder and an intricate filler recipe of Dominican and Mexican tobaccos, including the first-ever use of Criollo ’98 grown in Mao, Dominican Republic. This singular toro (6” x 52) comes housed in a cylindrical, metallic-accented humidor that opens like a mechanical display, revealing ten individually humidified metal tubos—each a self-contained vault for the cigar inside.
On the palate, the Spectre 2025 is poised and complex, opening with sweet cedar, cocoa, and dried fruit before deepening into peppery earth, roasted nuts, and a touch of mineral. The Criollo ’98 adds a refined spice to the retrohale, while the San Andrés binder lends both sweetness and structure. Production is limited to just 600 boxes worldwide, making this edition not only a showcase of Cohiba’s blending prowess but also one of the most exclusive smoking experiences of the year.
