This line was inspired by the <em>bandoleros</em> of the 18th and 19th centuries—smugglers of Cuban tobaccos to regions that were not under control of the Spanish Crown, which had prohibited the cigarmaking practice throughout their American and Caribbean colonies of the time.
Selected Tobacco has segmented the Bandolero line into three categories: Bandolero Serie A (Aventureros), Bandolero Serie C (Clandestinos), and Bandolero Serie T (Traficantes). With the latter (distinguished by a green sub-band), the Bandolero Serie T cigar boasts a classic Colorado-shade wrapper, sitting roughly between its siblings in terms of shade. The blend is not disclosed, only noting the origins as Costa Rican. In terms of flavor, expect a medium-plus body and robust flavors of oak, earth, zesty peppercorn, and classic leather through a long-lasting finish.
