Named after Quetzalcoatl, the Mesoamerican deity commonly depicted as a combination of bird and serpent, the Apostate Feathered Serpent cigar takes a less conventional path through the brand’s religiously inspired portfolio. The serpent theme led Apostate to a candela wrapper.
Crafted at Tabacalera Palma in the Dominican Republic, the Feathered Serpent blend features a Dominican-grown Corojo-seed candela wrapper over a Mexican San Andrés binder and Dominican filler tobaccos. Using Corojo for the candela wrapper gives the cigar more body and character than the grassy, mild profile often associated with the style.
The Feathered Serpent cigar delivers a medium-bodied smoke that begins with sweet pepper, brown sugar, and dry wood before developing creamier notes of grass, hay, nuts, and earth. Herbal spice becomes more noticeable through the retrohale, resulting in a layered profile that may change how some hobbyists view candela-wrapped cigars.
