The Tatuaje 15th Anniversary Rosado Claro is a throwback in concept but a departure in execution, offering a softer, more contemplative side of the brand that built its reputation on punchy Nicaraguan intensity. Pete Johnson revived this blend from a project originally crafted for the Grand Havana Room in 2004, using it to mark 15 years of Tatuaje production out of the Garcías' El Rey de los Habanos factory in Miami.
Rolled by single torcedores in the traditional Cuban custom style, the Tat 15th Rosado Claro features the same blend as its darker sibling—Nicaraguan binder and filler grown by the García family—topped with a hand-selected Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, this time sorted for its lighter rosado claro hue. The result is an experience that feels more Old World than core-line Tatuaje, delivering finesse over force and showing a surprising level of restraint from Tatuaje.
Expect a profile that’s light in texture but not in depth: notes of espresso bean, butterscotch, dry oak, and soft leather drift in and out with ease. There’s a touch of floral tang and cabinet spice that lingers on the finish, making it more of a slow-sipping cigar than a headliner. For Tatuaje fans, this one lands outside the usual wheelhouse—but that’s what makes it special. It’s a study in balance, and one of the more quietly compelling cigars in the brand’s catalog.
