Since 2013, Espinosa Premium Cigars has released a new entrant into the fan-favorite 601 La Bomba Warhead series on a near-annual basis. Nine years later, the brand is now on its eighth release, with Espinosa unleashing the 601 La Bomba Warhead VIII cigar for 2022.
The Warhead cigar is a spinoff of the 601 La Bomba cigar, making use of a hearty Connecticut Broadleaf maduro wrapper and high-priming Nicaraguan ligero tobaccos in order to rank among the most full-bodied smoking experiences available from Espinosa. Over the years, little has changed with this palate-pounding smoke, save for a change of factories (moving from Espinosa's La Zona to A.J. Fernández's San Lotano) and the introduction of a new size on each run.
For 2022, the Espinosa 601 La Bomba Warhead VIII is rolled in the largest size to date, boasting a whopping 6" x 60 gordo vitola. As per usual, the cigars feature a new rendition of the Warhead's "shark face" artwork, where the sub-band unfurls into the shape of a WWII-style bomb. This powerhouse blend is known for in-your-face flavors of black pepper, earth, espresso, and black licorice, and is limited to only 2,500 boxes of 10 cigars.
