For two decades ongoing, cigar hobbyists have come to expect that, every few years, the now-legendary García family will deliver with an outstanding cigar that moves the goalposts of premium tobacco flavor experiences. This trajectory includes notable hits such as the original DPG Blue label of 2003, the My Father cigar of 2008, and the Garcías' first major recognition as Cigar of the Year with 2012's Flor de Las Antillas (as well as many more to follow).

My Father Flor de Las Antillas (translated as Flower of the Antilles) is named for the Garcías' homeland of Cuba, as the island is known as the the largest of the Antilles Islands. Offering a new twist with a vintage feel, the Garcías incorporated accents from original art created in the early 1900s. In terms of tobacco, the cigar was among the first to show off the family's own Nicaraguan tobaccos, including the cigar's signature sun-grown wrapper, which was harvested from the Las Marias farm, located in the region of Namanji in Estelí, Nicaragua. This leaf surrounds a double Nicaraguan binder and all-Nicaraguan filler, amounting to a zesty yet not overpowering experience that appeals to both casual smokers and seasoned aficionados.

With a soft box-press, the My Father Flor de Las Antillas cigar opens up with a medium body and a cool smoke temperature, hitting notes of cedar and white pepper. The cigar grows to medium-full at its peak, evolving with flavors of nutmeg, orange zest, and touches of brown sugar.
