The UNLIMITED Cigar Company: A Radical Idea Called Good Cigars at Good Prices!

WOW! if I was younger, I’d start a new kind of cigar company! Maybe I’d call it the UNLIMITED Cigar Company, because every cigar that was for sale you could buy at a very un-special price for an un-limited amount of time because there was nothing special about any of them other than just being good cigars for a decent price. They weren’t named in honor of someone who died a long time ago, or someone who used a different name to describe the very same tobaccos that people had been using for generations… nope, it’s just gonna be a place that does the same old same old… good cigars at good prices. Oh, yawn of

Yawns… does it get any more boring than that?

This means that as a customer, you never have to worry about the cigar no longer being made… ’cause it ain’t a special edition, it isn’t being made in honor of somebody or something you never heard of. It’s just the normal cigar some factory produces every day and sells for a reasonable price!

When I was a kid there were probably 20 better quality cigars that represented 90 percent of all the sales. The biggest of them all was the Bering brand. The Bering Coronado, Plaza, and Corona Grande probably represented 1/4 of all the long filler cigars sold in this country. It was like the Marlboro or Budweiser of Cigars.

The Plaza was such a monster seller that my father would have me dump a couple of boxes of 50 out on the counter at lunchtime and guys on line would toss a buck on the counter and grab 4 plazas… and that’s the idea for the unlimited cigar company — no limited editions, no cigars in honor of any dreamt-up events concerning dreamt up uncles and grandparents that worked in the factories in Cuba. None of that phoney shit. Just good cigars at good prices.

The incredible simplicity of the above idea with no fake stories to add to the excitement of buying overpriced cigars that you will never be able to buy again no matter how much you like them, is just too boring to succeed. Goodness gracious, what would the folks at Cigar Aficionado write about?
