If this is your first TGS and you\u2019re looking to get a few tips, we\u2019ve reached out to some Great Smoke veterans to collect their top advice. Without further ado, let\u2019s hear from these awesome Socialites and figure out how to make your Great Smoke one to remember.<\/p>\n<h2>Tips from Chris Margrave:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cThe parties before and after The Great Smoke are amazing! Make sure you pace yourself so that you can enjoy the full experience.\u00a0 Don\u2019t miss out on the full 4-5 days of fun they spend half the year planning and putting together!\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cTake advantage of the catering at the event! In the two years I\u2019ve gone, it has all been excellent.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cEnjoy the company of your fellow botl\/sotl! Y\u2019all are enjoying the absolute best cigar event of the year together!\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Tips from Randy Bush, aka, the ASH KING:<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Find The Ash King &amp; get a selfie with a legend!<\/li>\n<li>Relax it\u2019s a lot to take in. You didn\u2019t come to not meet folks and have fun. Put yourself out there!<\/li>\n<li>Thursday night pre party a must.<\/li>\n<li>Friday RMLC Dinner. Get a ticket, you will be glad you did.<\/li>\n<li>Saturday balls out mode.<\/li>\n<li>Saturday night more fun at the mothership<\/li>\n<li>Sunday Brunch is great and leads to goodbyes until next year. Don\u2019t miss it.<\/li>\n<li>Beware of Michelle\u2019s hugs. It will be awkward before it is over.<\/li>\n<li>Do not squat at the mothership for days, because you don\u2019t have the means to get home.<\/li>\n<li>Be extra courteous to the staff. Tip well. It\u2019s amazing how they take care of everyone, amazing!<\/li>\n<li>Pronounce Guy Fieri\u2019s name correctly for goodness sake.<\/li>\n<li>Do not pick on Alan Rubin if he\u2019s there. He gets enough of that.<\/li>\n<li>Hit Tommy Callahan up for your pharmaceuticals.<\/li>\n<li>All of the manufacturers are welcoming. Do not hesitate to approach and meet.<\/li>\n<li>If you\u2019re willing to listen, Steve Saka will talk for as long as you want.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Tips from Don McKnight:<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Enjoy the moment and don\u2019t be in a hurry to get to the next booth or event. There is time.<\/li>\n<li>Drink a lot of water<\/li>\n<li>Be ready for all kinds of weather<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t act like a 12 year old at a Taylor Swift Concert when you see your favorite cigar maker. Be nice, but don\u2019t try and take up too much of their time. Get the picture and signature and move on. [Editor\u2019s Note: I personally would love to see every Socialite act like a 12-year-old at a Taylor Swift concert for my own amusement!]<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>\u00a0Wrapping Up<\/h2>\n<p>I\u2019ll add a few more tips of my own to conclude this shindig!<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Smoke a cigar you\u2019ve been saving. Everyone\u2019s got those special occasion cigars that they put away \u2013 what better time than now to light up?<\/li>\n<li>Drink water. That\u2019s just a general life tip. We all don\u2019t drink enough water.<\/li>\n<li>Be nice to the staff! The SI family is awesome and always well-behaved (well\u2026 99% well-behaved) during the event, but remember that these guys work their butt off literally all year for this show. It\u2019s a huge event, it\u2019s very tiring, people are working double shifts, coming in early, leaving late \u2013 tip your bartender, thank the people who ring you up, and try not to leave a trail of garbage in your wake.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>How about you?
