To fully appreciate the significance of this cigar, you need to go back to the start of 2017, when fan-favorite industry personality Matt Booth shocked the cigar world with an announcement of his retirement from the cigar industry. While loyal fans mourned the loss of one of the most innovative brands in the industry—Room101—Booth had been working behind the scenes on a comeback of epic proportions…
Two weeks before IPCPR 2017 (an industry event where companies introduce their latest and greatest), Booth shocked the cigar world yet again, announcing his return, this time paired with an equally artistic and creative brand—Caldwell Cigar Company. Among the two cigars announced, one had cigar fans particularly intrigued, as Booth would team with not only Robert Caldwell (owner of Caldwell Cigar Co.), but industry legend AJ Fernandez as well!
The cigars were initially dubbed “TRUTH,” but have since been shortened to “The T.” For this unique project, Fernandez is handling production (which is limited to only 100k cigars) at his famed Tabacalera Fernandez S.A. factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. Each of the five sizes produced are box-pressed and utilize a Nicaraguan puro blend, complete with tobaccos from AJ’s own Nicaraguan farms. With Caldwell and Booth’s knack for creating unorthodox flavor experiences, and AJ’s growing status as a bonafide cigar kingpin, it’s no wonder cigar enthusiasts have been champing at the bit to try this elusive beast!
