Southern Draw Kudzu Lustrum

The term Lustrum describes a five-year period, so it was only fitting that when Southern Draw Cigars set out to commemorate their fifth anniversary in the premium cigar industry, that they would offer enthusiasts an upgraded take on their first-ever release—Kudzu—with a special blend dubbed Kudzu LUSTRUM.

When Southern Draw debuted with the original Kudzu cigar in 2014, they were among the first contract brands for the now-legendary Tabacalera A.J. Fernández factory (owned and operated by A.J. Fernández, among the most acclaimed cigar blenders in the world). Southern Draw and Fernández have collaborated together ever since, including the Kudzu LUSTRUM blend, which makes use of some of the most unique tobacco to come out of the Fernández factory. The cigar is Nicaraguan puro, beginning with well-aged leaves at the core and continuing with a Nicaraguan Ometepe binder, finalizing the blend with a rare Medio-Tiempo Habano wrapper. This final ingredient is of particular interest, as medio tiempo is considered a rarity, even when included in a given cigar's filler, but it is almost unheard of to be featured as the wrapper. This is a rare offshoot leaf that sprouts above the (traditionally) highest-priming leaf known as ligero. Medio Tiempo therefore offers a similar level of strength, flavor, and overall potency, only being ramped up by a few more notches!

This translates to a medium-full experience brimming with flavor and complexity on every puff. Kudzu LUSTRUM was limited to roughly 7,500 bundles in total, offering both cigar fanatics and collectors alike a special treat. Expect to find we'll-balanced components of toasted oak, molasses, zesty cabinet spices, cocoa, and freshly roasted coffee beans—all at an astonishingly affordable price point.
