The first and arguably most acclaimed release from Plasencia Cigars to date—Alma Fuerte—has been retooled with a six-sided spinoff blend known as Plasencia Alma Fuerte Sixto I Hexagon Colorado Claro.

Known first and foremost for their giant agricultural operation throughout Central America, the legendary Plasencia family first introduced Alma Fuerte in 2016 as the flagship offering of Plasencia Cigars—a new company that would showcase the Plasencias as a brand, rather the behind-the-scenes player they had been until that point. With Plasencia Alma Fuerte Sixto I Hexagon Colorado Claro, the cigars are based on the Sixto II format from the original Alma Fuerte, a size that was quick to stand out in humidors due to its six-sided, box-pressed, honeycomb shape.

Plasencia Alma Fuerte Sixto I Hexagon Colorado Claro borrows the filler/binder recipe of Alma Fuerte, tweaking it slightly to accommodate a new wrapper component. This includes primarily Criollo ’98 seed from each of the major growing regions of Nicaragua (Condega, Estelí, Jalapa, and Ometepe). The Nicaraguan core blend now forgoes the maduro wrapper of the original, instead showcasing a much lighter Colorado claro-shade leaf that has been aged for 10 years. The smoking experience is rich and luxurious, like the original, yet now offering added nuance and subtlety, including standout flavors of clean cedar, sourdough bread, raw honey, and sweet toasted caramel.

    Pretty much the perfect cigar. Colorado wrapper aged 10 years. Makes this full toasty creamy flavor with less kick than the regular Alma Fuerte. This is a $20+ smoke every day. If you want perfect smoke , this is it. Flawless draw and burn.
