In 2014, A.J. Fernández introduced the affordably priced New World cigar, being themed around Christopher Columbus' discovery of the New World and, perhaps more importantly, the discovery of tobacco! The cigars proved to be a home run success among critics and casual smokers alike, leading to spinoff renditions such as the New World Connecticut and New World Puro Especial. But it is the fourth offering in the series that contains the most exotic recipe: New World Cameroon.

Indeed, New World Cameroon by A.J. Fernández differentiates itself through the use of an African Cameroon wrapper. Often praised as one of the most complex and exotic wrapper varietals, Cameroon stems from the Sumatra seed, which was brought to central Africa in the early 1900s. This exceptional ingredient has been paired with A.J.'s renowned Nicaraguan tobaccos, making up the cigar's binder and filler. The New World Cameroon has been blended to compliment its signature wrapper ingredient, showcasing a medium body and highlighting the spicy-sweet tendencies of the Cameroon leaf. Smokers can expect a delicate smoking texture and refined complexities not often found in such an affordable price range. Flavor characteristics range from red pepper and cedar, to cinnamon, brown sugar, toasted caramel, and medium-roast coffee beans.

    This is a very good smoke, a close 'sister' to the regular New World This, as the Cameroon version is much milder, and lighter to smoke. It's earthy and sweet, and the oils make it a creamy smoke.

    I won't ever turn a New World down, but when I want one on the lighter side, the Cameroon seems to be a bit more mild than the others. Still has a lot of great flavor, clean on the finish. A good smoke for just about any time.

    For the price of this is the best Cameroon cigar on the market. The box press lens itself to a great draw. The notes are earth in space with hints of leather. It is a champ for the price. I keep them on hand because it is good by itself or as a pallet cleanser.

    I bought a pair of these and the first one was ok. It didn’t blow me a way but it had a good burn. I let the other sit in my humidor a few months and smoke it again and the flavor was far better. And the construction and burn was the same across both.
