E.P. Carrillo Platinum Bash

To fully appreciate E.P. Carrillo's Platinum Bash cigar, you need to rewind the tape to 2022... At the industry's annual convention, EPC Cigar Co. debuted a trio of cigars under the same Platinum Bash title. The cigars were made to commemorate Master Blender Ernesto Perez-Carrillo and his 70th birthday (commonly known as a platinum anniversary).

Each of the three cigars were rolled in the same toro format, though the cigars used different recipes. Cigar enthusiasts then voted on their favorite blend, with the cigars only differentiating themselves through different-colored foot ribbons: gold, platinum, and red.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, it was the platinum-ribboned cigar that won out in the end, and E.P. Carrillo has rolled 500 boxes of 10 such cigars for 2023. The EPC Platinum Bash cigar is rolled in a 6" x 52 toro format, making use of a Mexican maduro wrapper, an Ecuadorian binder, and fillers from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. The blend is medium-full in intensity, offering a dense smoking experience of cocoa, earth, touches of pepper, and mocha sweetness through the finish.
