After perhaps the longest drought in Alec Bradley's top-tier Fine & Rare series since the cigar first debuted in 2011, the line has returned for 2022 with the Fine & Rare BC-(13)4EV cigar. This series has long been famed for its near-unheard of inclusion of 10 unique tobaccos within the blend. This is significantly more than the average blend, allowing for added complexity but making for added challenges in blending and (especially) the cigar rolling process.
The acclaimed Alec Bradley Fine & Rare collection is known for taking the blend name from the codified language used at the Raíces Cubanas factory where the cigars are crafted. For 2022, the blend has been dubbed BC-(13)4EV, being only the sixth such blend to date. This complex recipe begins with an estate-grown wrapper from Trojes, Honduras, secured over Nicaraguan and Honduran binder/fillers. Being among the most difficult cigars to craft, the full run of 2022 Fine & Rare was entrusted to a single pair of master rollers.
Being the most luxurious brand in Alec Bradley's portfolio, the Fine & Rare 2022 is packaged in hearty two-tone boxes, housing 11 cigars in individual coffins. As an added twist, this year's run includes a B-side variation of the blend, dubbed Fine & Rare BC-(13)4EV-B. This 11th cigar—whose blend is undisclosed—celebrates the brand's 11th anniversary, and is only available through box purchases. For over a decade, cigar enthusiasts have collected and clamored over this unique smoking experience, now available in a limited run of 2,500 sets for 2022.
