The Cuvee brand was originally launched in the European market
to compete with the fuller body cigars of the Cubans that comprise
60% of sales in this market. European cigar journal ranked Cuvee
in the top 10 cigars in Europe at the end of 2007 and received
a “Brilliant” award as well. Cuvee cigars are made
using only the top 10% of the tobacco processed while making
approximately 5 million Cusano cigars. Created in conjunction
with the legendary Hendrik Kelner at Tabadom in the Dominican
Republic, only approximately 500,000 Cuvee cigars available each
year, worldwide. The name for this particular Cuvee line comes
from the highest proof of alcohol sold in the United States.
A dark, rich, naturally cured Brazilian Maduro (exterior wrapper)
combined with potent Dominican Sun Grown wrapper (in filler)
starts the 151 off with a “kick” and quickly reveals
a medium/full-bodied flavor. The fillers complement the exceptional
wrappers and bring out sweet, pine and anise notes.
